Shift templates
Build a shift once, name it, and reuse it in a click.
Templates save you from re-typing the same shift again and again. Build a shift once, name it, and reuse it whenever you assign work.
What a template is
A template is a saved, reusable shift definition, typically a name and a start/end time, for example:
- Morning, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Evening, 4:00 PM to midnight
- Weekend cover, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Templates are shared across your workspace, so everyone building schedules uses the same consistent set.
Creating a template
- Open the template manager from the scheduling view.
- Choose New template.
- Give it a name and set the start and end time.
- Save.
Using a template
When assigning a shift, pick a template instead of typing times by hand. The times fill in automatically; you can still adjust them for that specific shift before saving.
Templates can also seed recurring rules. Start from a template, then choose which days it repeats on.
Editing and deleting
- Editing a template changes it for future use. It does not retroactively change shifts you already created from it.
- Deleting a template removes it from the picker. Shifts already placed from it stay on the schedule.
A note on times
Template times are stored as your workspace’s local wall-clock time. What you type is what you see. The conversion to a precise instant (accounting for timezones and daylight saving) happens when a real shift is created from the template.
