Shift trades & drops

Let members swap shifts or hand them back, with the right people in the loop.

Sometimes people can’t work a shift they’ve been given. Weqly lets members sort this out themselves, with a manager or teammate in the loop, through trades and drops.

Trades vs drops

  • Trade, you ask someone to swap a shift with you.
  • Drop, you ask to give up a shift entirely.

Requesting a trade

  1. Open the shift you want to hand over.
  2. Choose Request trade.
  3. Pick the person you want to trade with.
  4. Submit.

The other person is notified and can accept or reject the request. If they accept, the shift moves to them. Either way, you’re notified of their response.

Requesting a drop

  1. Open the shift you can’t work.
  2. Choose Request drop.
  3. Submit for review.

A manager reviews the drop request and responds. You’re notified of the outcome.

Statuses

Both trades and drops move through pending → accepted/approved or rejected. You can see where a request stands until it’s resolved.

Notes

  • Requests and responses trigger email notifications so nobody misses a change.
  • Only shifts in the future can be traded or dropped. Past shifts are historical and stay as they are.
