We want you to understand exactly how your billing works. The system is designed to be fair, transparent, and flexible: you get the seats you need, and only pay for what you use.

Your workspace seats: the basics

Every workspace comes with 5 free seats, always. These are on us! If you need more, you buy extra seats.

Example: if you buy 35 seats, you’ll have 40 seats total (5 free + 35 purchased).

The simple rule: you only pay for the seats you purchase. The 5 free ones never cost anything.

How much you pay

Your bill is based only on the seats you’ve purchased.

• Monthly plans, a small monthly fee for each purchased seat.
• Yearly plans, pay for the whole year at once and get 2 months free compared to paying monthly.

Only pay for what you use

We believe in fairness. If you don’t use all your purchased seats in a month, you earn credits for the unused ones.

Here’s how it works:

1. First, we count how many people actually used your workspace beyond your 5 free seats.
2. Then, we see how many purchased seats went unused.
3. You earn credits for every unused purchased seat.

The credit rate depends on your plan:

• Monthly plans, 1 unused seat = 1 credit
• Yearly plans, 1 unused seat = 10 credits (because you paid for the whole year upfront)

Example: if you bought 35 seats but only needed 5 (all in the free tier), you’d earn credits for 34 of the 35 purchased seats. That’s 34 credits on a monthly plan, or 340 credits on a yearly plan.

The plan minimum: one seat

There is one rule on top of the above: a paid plan always bills at least 1 purchased seat.

That first purchased seat is the price of the paid plan itself, so it never earns credits. Every seat above it does, exactly as described.

Why: without it, a team of 5 or fewer could buy a single seat, be credited that same seat every month, and hold a paid plan forever without ever paying again after the first month. That is not a plan, that is a one-off payment.

So the paid plan costs at least $1 a month (or $10 a year), whatever your usage. If you are within 5 users and do not need the paid features, the free plan already covers you at $0.

How credits work on your next bill

Credits are like money in your account that automatically apply to your next charge. They roll over month to month, and we always use the oldest credits first.

The important rule: you can never use more credits than you’ve actually paid for. This keeps everything fair and square.

Credits never expire. They are money you already paid, so they stay in your account until you use them.

Your next charge: simple math

When your next bill comes, we take your regular plan cost and subtract your available credits.

The easy formula:

Your next bill = Plan cost − Your credits   (minimum $0)

A credit balance you built up earlier can still cover a whole bill down to $0. What the plan minimum prevents is a bill that keeps refilling its own credits, month after month, forever.

Real examples

Example 1: Monthly plan

• You bought 35 seats (total: 40 seats with the 5 free).
• This month, only 3 people used your workspace.
• All users were in the free tier, so you earn credits for 34 of the 35 purchased seats (the first is the plan minimum).
• Next bill: $1 (credits cover all but the plan minimum).

Example 2: Yearly plan

• Same situation, but you paid for the year upfront.
• You earn yearly credits for every unused seat above the first.
• Next renewal: $10 (credits cover all but the plan minimum).

Example 3: A small team on the paid plan

• You have 4 users and bought 1 seat for the paid features.
• Nobody goes beyond the free tier, so no seat is “used”.
• That single seat is the plan minimum, so it earns no credits.
• Next bill: $1, every month, for as long as you keep the plan.

Quick tips to remember

• 5 free seats = always free, never expire.
