Live status
See at a glance who's working, on a break or off shift, and choose who can see it.
Live status puts a small dot on people’s avatars so you can see at a glance who’s working right now, without asking around. It’s on by default and an admin can change who sees it, or turn it off.
What the dot means
| Dot | Status | When |
|---|---|---|
| Green | Working | The person is on a shift right now. |
| Amber coffee cup | On a break | The person is working and in a planned break, or on a break they started themselves. See Breaks. |
| Grey | Off shift | Anything else. |

If your workspace uses Clock-in, the clock-in decides instead of the schedule: someone is Working while clocked in, whether or not they have a shift.
Statuses refresh about once a minute. Your own status updates instantly when you start or end a break or clock in or out.
Who can see it
Admins choose the audience in the workspace settings:

| Managers and admins (default) | The person themselves, the managers of their teams, and workspace admins. |
| Everyone | Every member of the workspace. |
| Off | Nobody, not even the person themselves. |
If you’re not allowed to see someone’s status, their avatar simply shows no dot. It never shows a misleading grey one.
Changing the setting
- Click your profile picture → Workspaces.
- Click the three dots next to the workspace → Settings.
- In the Features section, pick an option for Live status.
- Click Save Changes in the bar at the bottom of the page.
Turning it off only hides the dot. Breaks keep working as before.
