Managing teams

Group people into teams, assign managers, and keep schedules organised.

Teams group people together so schedules and time off stay organised. You might split by department, by location, or however your business is structured.

What a team is

A team is simply a named group of people in your workspace. Within a team, a person is either a manager of the team or a member of it. Managers look after the team’s schedule and leave; members work the shifts they’re given. To understand how managing relates to roles, see Roles and permissions.

Creating and editing teams

Create and edit teams on the Teams page. Give each team a name that reflects how you actually work: a department, a shift, a site, or a project.

Assigning managers

Assign one or more managers to a team so they can build and balance its schedule and approve leave for its people. A manager’s control is scoped to the teams they manage - they don’t manage the whole workspace. See Managing schedules for the manager’s day-to-day view.

Pending invitations

When you invite someone, their pending invitation stays visible on the Users and Teams pages until they accept or you revoke it. See Getting started with Weqly for how invitations work.
